March 2017, New York City Workshop
Come to NYC March 20-24, 2017, to explore and conduct Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with Maestro Donald Schleicher. This course includes score study classes, conducting sessions, visits with Diane Wittry (author of Beyond the Baton) and Jesse Rosen (CEO, League of American Orchestras), and much more.
April 2017 Workshop, Boulder, Colorado
Join us in the beautiful city of Boulder for this rare chance to tackle Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with first-class professional performers – the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, the Boulder Chorale, and selected soloists – all under the guidance of renowned pedagogue Markand Thakar. The workshop will address the technical and musical challenges presented by this monumental work, including melding orchestra to chorus and soloists to each other.

A Little Bit About Us
International Conducting Institute (ICI) was founded by Silas Huff and Bahman Saless in 2010, who had developed much of their conducting careers through various workshops around the globe. While there are a variety of conducting workshops around the world, ICI’s mission is to provide the highest quality of instruction necessary to develop students to their desirable careers, whatever that may be. This Includes baton technique, score study, historical interpretations and discussions, rehearsal techniques, career development advice as well as customized classes in Alexander Technique, Yoga and more which are designed with the conductor in mind.
ICI employs a variety of highly qualified and proven conducting teachers. Offering conducting masterclasses in every season ICI can be your single source for gaining high level yet diverse conducting knowledge throughout the year. This way students can learn a variety of techniques from different masters.
International Conducting Institute offers one-week masterclasses in New York City with the Astoria Symphony Orchestra, Round Rock Texas with the Round Rock Symphony and in Boulder Colorado, with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra. ICI’s grand masterclass is held in Czech republic during the summer months and lasts over two weeks. This workshops is designed to include large-scale repertoire as well as other unique selections not offered anywhere else.
